Step One:  Scoop the food with your spoon.

Step Two:  Bring spoon to mouth.

Step Three:  Remind Mommy that I need BLAND food and not to deviate from doctor's orders!

Step Four:  Thank Stetson for the yummy Jello he made and watch him enjoy it as well!

Say What?!

Cassidy is learning sign language, just as Stetson did when he was younger.  This weekend she kept signing the following to me:

I fully admit to not being as savvy as I should be on my sign language, but I had no idea what she was trying to tell me.  I knew the first sign pictured above, which is "more".  More?  More what?  What did she want more of?

When I dropped her off at school this morning I HAD to ask her teacher what she was trying to tell me.  I explained that I understood the sign for more but didn't know what the second sign was.  So, I duplicated what she was doing.  She was signing "yellow".  Yellow?  More yellow???

Then the light when off...

Cassidy has been sick and I have been feeding her very bland food.  Guess what I made this weekend for her to eat?  JELLO!  She was trying to tell me that she wanted more Jello!!

You are quite clever, Diddy Bug!  Quite clever indeed.

Who Needs the Splash Park??

Daddy was in productive mode today!  He painted primer on the fence on the dog run, washed his Ranger by hand, and put out fertilizer on our yard.  He was busy all day long! 

So what is a kid to do when Daddy is busy doing chores all day long?  What about play in the sprinklers while Daddy washes his Ranger?!  GREAT idea!

Cassidy came home from school early yesterday with a stomach bug and is still not completely over it.  Mommy wouldn't let her play in the sprinklers but I did let her play in the garage and watch.  It really didn't bother her that she couldn't play, though.  Poor thing was just not up for much today.

Stetson had a blast, though!  I'm not quite sure what the purpose of the goggles was but he insisted on wearing them....like this.

He played with everything in the sprinklers.  Baseball, football, soccer, etc.  All the toys came out for this adventure.

Due to Diddy Bug's illness, she didn't stay out too long.  I did set her in front of the window, though, so she could still keep an eye on her big brother.

Christopher, we wish you a day of celebration with all your favorites!  Have the best birthday ever!  So sorry we can't be there but we are there in spirit.  We love you!

Wordless Wednesday

Evening Walk

After dinner this evening, we decided to take a walk and check out our new neighborhood in more detail. This was Cassidy's first ride in the wagon and Stetson chose to ride his big wheel for our adventure.

Hat - check. Water - check. Let's go, Mama!
It was only a little over three years ago that Stetson received the wagon for his first birthday. What a difference three years makes! He is so grown up!

We stopped to take a break in the shade by the pond. I couldn't let the photo opportunity pass.

There are more hills in the neighborhood than we thought. Stetson had a hard time pedaling up this one.

We took a long walk and got to see lots of new stuff! By the time we got back home we were all tired and HOT! So, we all grabbed some water and cooled off inside. Thank goodness for air conditioning!

We hope you all had a great evening as well. It is bath time and then off to bed for us! Goodnight!

Splash Park!!!

Since the Daddies went to the lease and it has been SO hot this week, Meggie and I decided to take the kids to the splash park in my neighborhood this morning. They arrived at 9:30am so we could try to beat the hottest part of the day (and the crowd). We had perfect timing!

Stetson and Evelyn could not wait to "jump" in. We even had to call them back for sunscreen, earplugs, etc because they headed straight for the fun. Who wouldn't, though, right?
Stetson had a blast running through the splash park and getting hit by all the water coming from so many different directions.

I wish you could see his face better in this picture. He was giggling with his mouth wide open and a huge grin from ear to ear.

Evelyn's turn! I caught her right as the huge palm tree showered her with water!

Scarlett sat down and played with the same fountain Cassidy did. Notice that it's not so little anymore.

YAY!! This is awesome!

Cassidy was scared of the water when it unexpectedly sprayed her. I brought out a toy to try to ease her stress.
That didn't work.

Let's take a closer look....

As you can see, Cassidy was not a huge fan of the splash park. Scarlett loved it! Stetson and Evelyn really enjoyed it too but they were glad to have a regular pool right there as well. We will definitely try it again and hopefully Diddy Bug will have a better experience.

After our morning of swimming, we headed back home for lunch. The little ones enjoyed grilled cheese sandwiches while the rest of us enjoyed turkey sandwiches. We also had chips, grapes, and cookies! It was a perfect morning! Thank you Carlson Girls for coming to play with us and for the fruit and dessert!

Family Time

After the birthday party and short naps this afternoon, it was time for us to have some family time at home. While Daddy grilled dinner (caribbean chicken, fresh pineapple, wild rice and green beans....so yummy), the kids played in the backyard. These are the moments that I know I will miss later in life.

Stetson's toy of choice today was his t-ball set.

Cassidy chose to play with my camera case (aka her purse) and a book she received as a party favor today.

What a great day to read outdoors.

Evelyn & Scarlett's Birthday Party

Evelyn and Scarlett had a joint birthday party today to celebrate Evelyn turning six and Scarlett turning one! We were all invited over to The Carlson's for food and fun. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Here are the one year olds! Presley was born 5/5/09, Scarlett was born 7/15/09, and our little Cassidy was born 5/28/09.

Evelyn and Stetson had a GREAT time together today! They were inseparable.

After lunch, Evelyn and Scarlett opened their gifts. Stetson is never far away when there are presents involved.

I don't know what it was about this door but the babies loved it! I promise that we did not pose them for this...they did it all on their own.

Meggie's Dad loves kids and Cassidy fell in love with him as well. She brought this book to him while he was cleaning the kitchen and asked him to read it. Of course, he did not hesitate.
