Cassidy's Second Year

I added a slideshow for Cassidy's second year.  I am getting really bad about keeping the pictures to a minimum, so it's another long one!  She sure has changed since last year.  Enjoy!

Cassidy is Two!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Diddy Bug!!  I can't believe our little girl is already two years old, but I am so excited that she is because this is my favorite age.  There are so many changes ahead this year and our toddler will turn into a little girl!

We had a little party at our house to celebrate Cassidy's big day!
Cassidy remembered exactly what she was supposed to do with cake!
She even blew out her candle all by herself!!
I think she liked the attention.  What do you think?
I even managed to bake this lady bug cake for Diddy Bug!  Thank you to everyone who helped me with this creation.  I couldn't have possibly done it without you.
It even tasted good...at least the birthday girl thought so!  That's all that matters, right?
Sadly, Cassidy's party outlasted her so she was unable to open her presents until Sunday morning.  Here she is with her boots and watering can from Mama Bear and Papa Bear and her non-spillable bubble bucket from Nonnie.  She had a blast playing with everything she received and I can tell you that she will be dressed to perfection this Summer!  Thank you to everyone for making Diddy Bug's birthday so special.

Stetson's Pre-K Graduation

Well, it is official.  Stetson has graduated from Pre-K and is ready for Kindergarten!!  We are so proud of our little guy and enjoyed going to his graduation tonight.

His class performed a program about the USA, so they all had to dress in patriotic colors.  Luckily, we found a shirt that combined his need to follow the theme with his love for Yoda!

Here they are singing their little hearts out!

Each child had a speaking part and I was amazed at how well they all did!  Stetson was preparing for his turn to speak in this picture.
The worst part of graduation is that he and all his friends will be going separate directions.  I just had to get a picture of Stetson and John (aka best friends since 2007).  We will definitely keep in touch.
Congratulations, Graduate!!  We love you!

I also managed to capture a couple parts on video for your viewing pleasure. :)

Stetson performing his speaking part.  He says "The bald eagle is a symbol that represents independence and strength."

And the best part....our little graduate receiving his diploma!!

Connor's First Birthday

We headed to San Antonio this weekend to celebrate Connor's first birthday!  It's hard to believe he is already a year old.  Happy Birthday, big guy!!
 Such a cutie!
Connor had a swimming party but don't let these pictures fool you.  The water was C.O.L.D.!

Stetson is already swimming well this year without his floaties!
And this is Cassidy's first year IN the floaties!
Drew and J spent the entire party cooking hamburgers, sausage links and hot dogs for all the guests.  It was a big party!
The birthday boy enjoying his cake and letting his Daddy enjoy it too!
We had a great time and look forward to many more birthday parties for our youngest nephew!  Thanks for inviting us!

Lone Star Park

J arranged for us to spend our Mother's Day at Lone Star Park (the local horse racing track) with Mama Bear and Papa Bear.  We started with a great lunch that lasted all day long!  I think we ate and ate and ate, and then ate some more.
We were in the ballroom upstairs that overlooked the race track.  We had a great table right on the window and right next to the patio.
This is not the best picture, but here are the ladies.
Stetson and Cassidy had a GREAT time on the patio watching the horses.  Stetson was really into it!
Here are Stetson and Mama Bear and Papa Bear watching the horses.
After the first couple races, Mama Bear and I took the kids down to the Paddock to see the race horses and jockeys.  It is hard to tell in this picture, but Cassidy walked right up to this man, held his hand and started talking to him about the horses.  I think he was an owner of one of the horses, so he was a good person to talk to!
Then we went right up to the rails on the ground level of the track to watch one of the races.  It was hot but super fun!
Unfortunately, the race we watched on the ground level was a turf race rather than a track race so the horses were a little further away.  The kids stilled loved it, though (especially when the ambulance went driving by super fast).  For those that don't know, the ambulance follows the race horses and jockeys on each race so they are right there if needed.
Cassidy didn't make it through the entire day without needing a nap.  She is getting heavy!
Stetson helped us pick horses for each race and he was good at it!  I know, I know...teaching a five year old to bet on horses probably isn't the best idea, but he didn't know we were actually putting money on the horses.
Stetson even made a little friend named Charlie.  They sat in these chairs on the patio forever and talked about everything under the sun.  They reminded me of two old men.
We had a fabulous time and thank J for setting it all up.  It was a great idea!  Happy Mother's Day to all!

Happy Mother's Day

A Mother...
When you're a child she walks before you,
To set an example.

When you're a teenager she walks behind you
To be there should you need her.

When you're an adult she walks beside you
So that as two friends you can enjoy life together..

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers I know and love!  To my Mom, you are the best and I can't thank you enough for all you have done, are doing, and will do.  I love you!
