Today I hosted a Baby Sprinkle for Amber to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her second son. A baby sprinkle is a baby shower celebration for any and all children after the firstborn. The idea for this type of celebration is to “sprinkle” the baby with gifts instead of “showering” them.
The theme was "Sprinkled With Love", so I had a whole table dedicated to the theme. It included cupcakes sprinkled with sugar, chocolate frosted donut holes with sprinkles, frosted cookies with sprinkles, and an ice cream station where you could sprinkle on your favorite toppings.
I also made a banner that said "Sprinkled With Love" that hung across the mantle above all the gifts. An envelope for gift receipts and a pad for keeping track of the gifts was also provided.
I wanted to give Amber a diaper cake, but was tired of the same diaper cake you see all the time. I came across this idea for a diaper tricycle and had to make it.
When the guests arrived, they signed the baby book. Upon departing, they were given a favor as a thank you for attending.
There was other food too, as well as blue punch. How can you have a celebration for a baby boy and not have blue punch?
I never got a great picture of the guest of honor with my camera, but had to take this picture of her taking pictures. We are the blogarazzi after all.
Luckily, Amber did get to enjoy the food and drink.
Gift time! She had so many gifts and everyone was so sweet to "sprinkle" her with so many needed items.
As I said before, the guests were given a favor when the shower was over. They each received two little gift bags that included a salt and pepper shaker filled with jelly beans.
The holes on the shakers were in the shape of a heart so they can continue to "Sprinkle With Love".
