Oktoberfest

Kane and Meggie invited us to their new home for some yummy German food and then to Oktoberfest in McKinney.  Their house is beautiful and the food was delicious!  We ate brats with sauerkraut, homemade onion rings, and homemade cookies for dessert.  Yum!

After our meal, we headed to Oktoberbest.  We had fun taking in all the sights and sounds.  I caught Cassidy and Scarlett enjoying it all too.  How cute is this?!
They were watching Kane help Stetson with the strong man sledgehammer thing (very technical term).  Ok, so I don't know what it's called, but it is where you hit the block with the sledgehammer and it causes a piece of metal to go up the arm and hit a bell at the top if you hit it hard enough.  Clear as mud, I know.
I wonder where he gets that face?  I don't know anyone who does that with their mouth. ;)
After proving how strong he is, Stetson danced a jig or two with the little girls.  Unfortunately, Evelyn wasn't able to go with us.
He even posed for pictures.  Mr. Cool!
Diddy Bug was getting plenty of attention from her Daddy too.  She sure does love him!
We then took the kids to see the animals in the petting zoo and to play a little.  There were rows and rows of hay bales for the kids to climb on, jump off, etc.  They had a blast with this!

 It was hot!
Thank you so much for inviting us to do all this!  We had so much fun!

Cultural Parade

Primrose had their annual Cultural Parade today at 5:00.  Since it was such a busy time of day, they decided to have the parade on one of the older kids' playgrounds rather than in the parking lot.  I think it worked out well!  It was organized chaos, of course, but it was still fun!

Cassidy's class represented China!

Doesn't she look Chinese?
Since Stetson only attends Primrose after school, his "class" did not represent a country.  They were more or less there to cheer on the younger ones.
Here is Cassidy "parading" with her friends.
While big brother cheers her on.
Stetson and his friends did get a chance to "parade" as well, though!
After the parade, we went to each classroom to taste different cuisines from around the world.  Stetson was more interested in showing us what he plays with, though.  I can't say that I blame him.  This is pretty cool.
Diddy Bug showing us her classroom.
Stetson helped Cassidy with her snack of jello and gelato (not together).
It's always fun to spend some time with the kids in their element.  I look forward to the next parade (Halloween?)!

Friday Primrose Update

It looks like Cassidy and her friends are having a great day at school today!  I just love getting these pictures and feeling like I am a part of her Primrose life.

Future mommy in the making!  She's got the correct form and everything.

A Peek Inside Cassidy's World

Every Friday, Primrose sends pictures of what Cassidy did all week.  Since the weather was so beautiful last week, they spent a lot of time outside on the playground.

Ahh, a day in the life of Diddy Bug!

Stetson's First Ride

Stetson asked out of the blue this morning if we could take the training wheels off his bike.  J and I discussed it and pretty much decided why not?!  So, we picked up some knee and elbow pads when we were out and about this morning.

After naps we headed outside to start the adventure!  Here is Daddy first teaching Stetson how to fall properly.
And they're off!
Lookin' good!
No joke...two minutes into the training he was riding by himself!!!

Here are some videos for your viewing pleasure.
Look at him now!!  We are so proud of you, Stetson!!!!!!!!!

Mini Stetson

This note came home from school with Stetson this week.
I know I have tapped into my creative side lately, but THIS is not my expertise!  Sadly, the artist in the family (Daddy) is out of town this weekend.  I guess Stetson and I will have to figure this out by ourselves.  We can do it!

I decided that I would clothe "Mini Stetson" and let him decorate him.  Stetson helped me pick out what he would be wearing and then I made it happen.  Once my part was complete, the little guy moved on to the real creativity department!

I glued on wiggly eye balls I had left over from Cassidy's ladybug birthday cake (since I had to buy a whole package), but Stetson brought "Mini Stetson" to life!
Here are Stetson and "Mini Stetson" posing for a picture.
The finished product!!
My favorite part was when Stetson told me that "Mini Stetson" needed a heart.  Luckily, we had a heart sticker!
He even gave him fingers!
I also added some shoe laces to his shoes using correction tape.
We had fun on our family project!!  I'm sure we'll have more throughout the school year.

Now, just because Cassidy is little does not mean that she can't be part of the family project too!  Granted, Stetson didn't want her anywhere near "Mini Stetson" but she got to be a part of the action too...just in a different way.  Thanks to Amber, Cassidy has a huge princess coloring book! She had a blast coloring while we worked on our project.
She even brought in the princess chair Alyssa passed down to her!  Too fitting...the princess coloring a princess while sitting in a princess chair!
