Let's Jump

Since we have been in the heat the past few days, we decided to do indoor activities today.  We went out for lunch and then headed to the mall for shopping and whatever fun we could find.  It didn't take long for us to find it!

Our little dare devils loved this!  They jumped on trampolines while strapped to bungee cords, making their jumps super high but their landings very soft.
Yes, even Cassidy was able to do this!
Weeeee!!  They reached the second story multiple times!
 Too fun!
I apologize for the quality of the pictures, but I forgot my camera and had to take pictures on my phone.

Later on, we also went out for dinner and then to Barnes and Noble for more fun.  The kids really enjoy reading in the kids area and they each got to pick out a new book.  Cassidy chose a Sophia the First book that is on her level.  We have already started working on reading it with her.  Stetson, on the other hand, chose the 2013 World Records Book that he has been eyeing for a while now.  He is fascinated with interesting little facts.

Let's Splash

Today's adventure was to the Tom Muehlenbeck Center in Plano.  I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for some great yet cheap entertainment.  It was $3 admission for the kids and only $6 for adults!  You can't beat that for this kind of entertainment!

We met one of our neighbors and their friends there for a day of fun in the sun.  Stetson loved the water slides!  There were quite a few boys his age in our group so we let the boys roam freely around the park. There were lifeguards everywhere and we could keep an eye on them because it's not a huge place.  Stetson REALLY enjoyed his freedom.
Cassidy enjoyed playing with her friends as well.
There were smaller slides for the young ones and this whole play area was only is a foot of water. Perfect!
You gotta love cold water on a hot day!
Not only does this place have an outdoor area, it also has an indoor area!  This part has more big water slides, another play area for the little ones, a pool, and a lazy river!  The little girls LOVED the lazy river!
I had fun with the girls in the lazy river too!  There were lots and lots of giggles.
 How fun is this place?!
THIS fun!!
I even caught Stetson in the smaller area.  This whole place is fun for all.
Stetson and Cassidy not only played with their friends, but with each other too.
I didn't get any pictures of them all swimming in the big pool outside, but Cassidy loved the fountains in the pool.
Another super fun day!!

V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N.!!!!!

I am thrilled to announce that The Ratt Pack is officially on vacation this week!!  We have many fun activities planned so check back with us to see what we're up to each day.  We are super excited!

We actually started our vacation as soon as I got off work on Friday.  When I arrived home, we loaded up in the car and headed to San Antonio to visit family and start our adventure.  We also got to meet our newest family member, Zachary!

On Sunday, Mom and Alyssa joined us for a trip to the River Walk.  We started with lunch at Casa Rio and were able to sit right next to the river and in the shade!  Whew!
While waiting for our food, the kids enjoyed watching the ducks and fish.  They also saw all the river boats drive by.
After our yummy lunch, we decided to go on a river boat ourselves.  It was hot but worth it!

Stetson was our official photographer during the river boat ride and he captured some great pictures!  Here are just a few of his masterpieces...

We also passed this place and HAD to take a picture...
Our little River Walk cuties...
Because it was so hot on the boat, we decided to cool down with some ice cream!

And our last stop before departing for the day was The Disney Store inside River Walk Mall.  Each kiddo received a special treat as a souvenir.
We had so much fun!

Too Hot to Handle

As stated last month, Amy and I have committed to run a 5k each month this Summer.  Today was our second one titled "Too Hot to Handle" in Dallas.  We trained for the heat but were blessed with a rainy morning with temperatures in the low 80s!

We did so well on our run too!  We knocked three and a half minutes off our time from last month!! I have to admit that we look a lot less exhausted after this race too.  This "after picture" is much better.  :)

More Neighborhood Fun

The fun in our neighborhood never stops!  One of our other neighbors had a party today to celebrate the Fourth and rented a huge water slide.  All the kids were invited to come play!

Stetson enjoying the slide...
Cassidy enjoyed herself as well.  She is so small that she caught air going down this huge slide!
Look at this thing!
What a fun-filled, exciting, and tiring holiday weekend!

Happy Fourth!

We spent our day swimming and eating to celebrate Independence Day.  J always buys fireworks for the day and this year was no different, except that Aaron bought some too...double trouble.  :)  The kids thought it was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!

They started their personal fireworks show with little pop-its that they threw on the ground.
Once it got dark, J and Aaron pulled out their "bags of tricks".
All the kids loved the sparklers.
This was Cassidy's first year to hold her own!
After that, the Daddies put on a great show! Stetson got to help J light the fireworks this year too.  I'm not sure if he had more fun lighting them, or running away from them once lit. Whichever it was, I enjoyed watching all of it. Happy Fourth, everyone!!

Red, White and Boom!

Just like we have every year since we moved, we attended the annual 4th of July fireworks show in Sachse. For a small town, they really do a great job!  Our neighbors had never been so we invited them to go with us.  So fun!

While waiting for it to get dark, the boys passed a football back and forth.
We brought glow in the dark items for all the kiddos to help pass the time as well.
Amy and Aaron ready for the show...
J and Jamie ready as well...
The Ratt Pack!
The Faulkners!
And the fireworks!!
They were beautiful!
Here is a little video of the show.  We were right underneath them again.
We are still fans and will definitely be back again in 2014!
