Cassidy is 7 Months Old!

Our precious little girl is seven months old already. She is as happy as can be and makes our family complete. We can't imagine life without her.

Here are her new accomplishments:
  • Sitting completely unassisted
  • Saying "Mama"
  • Teething like crazy (yet nothing to show for it)
  • Reaching forward and attempting to get on all fours
  • Hair! She is getting more hair!

Christmas Continued

After we opened all our gifts, had Christmas dinner, and played with all our new toys, we were all completely tuckered out! Christmas is hard work!

Stetson climbed up in Nonnie's chair and watched Noggin. I'm not sure if the alone time or the quiet time was better for him.

The next day we pulled out all the new toys again! Since there was no time to play outside on Christmas day, we took the kids to the park. As you can see, kids come in all different shapes and sizes (and ages!).

Santa brought J this remote control helicopter and Uncle Drew and Aunt Raquel gave Stetson the one he is holding. Perfect!

Stetson and Alyssa also had fun running wild on the playground.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. It seems as soon as we got to San Antonio it was time to leave. We packed up our car and headed down 35. All I can say is thank goodness for dvd players!!
Thank you, Mom, for a wonderful Christmas and for letting us invade your house. We all had so much fun and hated to leave. We miss you already!

Christmas 2009

We traveled to San Antonio for Christmas this year. We always stay at our house but since we are in the apartment this year it is the perfect year to spend it with family! We had a blast!

Here is Stetson on Christmas morning. Ready and waiting!
And Miss Cassidy in her Christmas bow.
Ok, so maybe Cassidy wasn't quite as ready as Stetson was for Christmas. There was just TOO much excitement for her.
Seriously...look how many gifts there were!
Stetson is a pro at opening gifts this year!
He actually counted how many he had to open. I can't remember the final number but it was a lot!
I just love spending Christmas with kids. They are what make it so fun!
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas as well! We are so blessed to have such great family and friends.

John's Party

Stetson's BFF, John, had his birthday party at the Little Gym in Rockwall. I think these kids are professional gymnasts now considering all the parties they have had at this place! I didn't take many pictures but I can tell you that Stetson has gotten much better!

Here are Stetson, John and Parker having lots of fun.
My little monkey on the rings. It is amazing how much upper body strength kids just naturally have.
And the favorite...bouncing!

We had a great time at the party! Stetson is already talking about what he wants to do for his birthday.

Santa came to Primrose

Santa Claus came to see Stetson and Cassidy at school on Friday!! Mommy is excited because they took pictures and sent them to me!

I'm told that Stetson couldn't wait to get his turn! When I asked him about it he told me that he asked Santa for a jump rope and that Santa gave him a candy cane. The candy cane was a huge hit.
And Ms. Cassidy was just checking Santa out....wasn't scared, wasn't happy...just taking it all in.

Winter Wonderland 2009

Tonight was Stetson's Winter Wonderland program. All of the classes from his school (preschool through kindergarten) got to perform on stage at a local elementary school (aka big school), which was very exciting! The two preschool classes combined and sang three songs!!

Here is Stetson backstage before the program "stretching"...
Hangin' out backstage with John, his BFF!

Entering the stage for his debut...

Getting situated...

And they're off!!

They even added hand movements! Here they would cover their mouths and not say the words (ex: Jingle ______, Jingle ______, Jingle all the ____).

Now they added props...candlesticks.

And for the grand finale...

The Future

I hope to return to Wordless Wednesday next week, but in the meantime I thought I would give you a glimpse of our future. It isn't much yet but it will be.

Sold!
The lot and our future neighbors...
A view from down the street. Our house will face the street the picture is taken from and our driveway will be on the side (on the other street).
This is the first of many photos of this property. It will be fun to compare these to the final product. We can't wait!

Gift from Nonnie

Nonnie sent Stetson and Cassidy the perfect gift in the mail today! All of our Christmas decorations are in storage (don't worry...we're still going to do minor decorations), but that includes our advent calendar. No worries...Nonnie has provided it!

Here is Stetson "reading" the card. He's such a big boy now.
Daddy was explaining what an advent calendar is and how to use it. Stetson was quite intrigued!
Isn't it cute?!
Stetson searching for number 1...
Per Stetson, "it's a house with snow on the roof and a Christmas tree!"
The calendar also tells the story of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Tonight we got to "not even a mouse".
Thank you, Nonnie, for this awesome gift! It came at the perfect time and is a huge hit!

Squash!

Cassidy got a sample of food at Thanksgiving, but now has the "okay" to eat baby food. We are starting with vegetables and will eventually move to fruits. Tonight she tried squash and she LOVED it! She had no problem eating from the spoon and really didn't push any of it out of her mouth. She's a pro at this eating thing!

Yummy!
Yummy! Yummy! More, please!

Statistics

Cassidy's 6 month check-up with the pediatrician went very well. She is right where she should be as far as development is concerned. Just like her big brother was, she is our little chunky monkey! I love it! Here are her statistics:

Height: 25 1/4" (30%)
Weight: 18 lbs (80%)

Cassidy is Six Months Old

I know I say this every month, but seriously...where has the time gone? How can Cassidy possibly be six months old already?! She is such a sweetheart and we just love her to pieces. Her little personality has developed and she is as happy as can be. She can now sit up by herself, play with toys with Stetson, pull Cabela's and everyone else's hair, and laugh and smile with the best of them. She is teething right now, though, so those smiles and laughs hide sometimes. I'm so glad we don't actually remember teething because it is awful!

She goes for her six month checkup on Monday so we'll give you an update on her stats then. I do know that she starts baby food, though!

Bath Time

You can never have enough bath pictures! The kids seem to have adjusted just fine to apartment life and were enjoying their bath last night.

Thanksgiving 2009

Mama Bear and Papa Bear were kind enough to invite us to their house for Thanksgiving. After our big move, the last thing I wanted to do was cook. Even though there were only four adults, we still had the whole Thanksgiving feast...and it was yummy! Thank you so much for all your hard work, Mama Bear and Papa Bear!

The table (and the kids)...
Little Miss Sunshine on her first Thanksgiving...
Getting some love from MaMa...
Mama Bear is Cassidy's hero because she introduced her to sweet potatoes!!!
Look at my big boy cutting his food with a fork and knife (and properly too)!!
The goods! These two went above and beyond!
We hope you all had as wonderful a Thanksgiving as we did! Next year we hope to host a big meal at our new house.
