Cheer Camp

The high school cheerleaders provided a cheer camp to all girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade who wanted to learn more about what it's like to be a cheerleader.  Cassidy made sure we signed her up!  It helps that she knows one of the Varsity cheerleaders too!

I had to drop Cassidy off in the morning and then come back in the afternoon to see what all she had learned.  She was excited to show us her new moves.
But first, the Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleaders performed for us.
Then it was time for the girls!  They were broken down into groups by grade.  Our little 1st grader is small but mighty.
After the performances, they all got together for a group picture.  That's a lot of cheerleaders! Cassidy is on the far right next to her favorite cheerleader in white.
Her favorite cheerleader is Haedyn!!  We love Haedyn!!
Congrats on completing cheer camp, Cassidy!!
Haedyn made camp so fun for this future cheerleader.
Some of Cassidy's friends were there too.
This girl makes friends wherever she goes!
Seriously...I think she knows all the Varsity and JV cheerleaders now.  They know her too!
Camp was just the beginning, though.  Cassidy gets to cheer at the first home game so stay tuned for pics of that!

Are you ready for some football?!

It's that time again!  The onset of Fall means football season!!  We love watching all the NFL games but, in our house, the WFL is the most exciting!  Our favorite player plays in the WFL too!!

Neon Stetson reporting for duty!!  It's still only practice but the opening game is right around the corner!
How about a little offensive drill?
Don't let him get you down and don't drop the ball!!
That's my boy!  Fight for it!
Now it's time to play defense...
Get 'em!
Bring him D.O.W.N.!!
Our favorite player of all time!!
So what's Stetson's favorite part of practice this year?  The fact that Daddy is an assistant coach and he gets to hit him (football fashion only, of course)!
We can't wait for the season to officially start!!

That Wylie Band

A few years ago, the high school marching band paraded through our neighborhood and the kids loved it.  We received notification that they would be coming again this year, so we made sure to be home.  Also, one our neighbors is on the drum line so that makes it even more exciting!

All our neighbors gathered in the cul-de-sac so we would be out of the way.  So fun!

Here they come...
They stopped and played a song for us too!  Wow that's a lot of people!!
Our little group enjoyed every minute of it...from kids to adults.
We hope That Wylie Band comes back again soon!

First Day of School

I can't handle it!  This is the first day of school and I have a 4th grader and a 1st grader!  This is their last year to go to school together until he is a senior in high school and she is a freshman.  That will be here before I know it too!

For now, though, it's the first day of a new year!

We had to get pictures without the signs too.

One of my favorites...
Introducing our now 4th grader!!

Also introducing our 1st grader!!

I hope you both have exceptional school years and accomplish all your goals and beyond.  I have a good feeling about this year.

Valedictorian Celebration

Well, it only took all Summer but we are finally celebrating Stetson's huge accomplishment of being Valedictorian of his 3rd grade class.  School starts Monday, but he's still not officially a 4th grader yet.

We told him we could do whatever he wanted to do to celebrate.  He chose to go see the movie "Inside Out", which I highly recommend.  It was so nice to hang out....just the four of us.

After the movie, Stetson wanted to eat Japanese food at a hibachi grill.  He is definitely his father's son!  So, that's what we did!  Now it's off to fourth grade!!  I can't wait to see what great things are to come this year!

Fort Worth Zoo

We were lucky enough to have Uncle Dude, Aunt Rock, Connor and Lauren in town this weekend! We met up at the Fort Worth Zoo to enjoy some time together.  I just love this zoo!

The two C's were great at feeding the birds.
Stetson gave it a go too...
Awe, my little kangaroos!
Sibling love while Connor looks on in amazement.
Be still my heart!  This little girl is too cute for words!!
Cassidy really enjoyed helping Aunt Rock take care of Lauren.
Once again, the visit was too short but we are so grateful for the time we did get to spend together. If only we lived closer......
