Growing Up Too Fast

Our Little Diddy Bug is getting to be such a big girl!  Just look at what I had to buy for her now!

Now before you get all excited, she is NOT completely potty trained yet.  This is to help her "feel" when she has accidents.  I let her pick out her panties and she chose Minnie Mouse!  I already bought her Princess ones for school.  It's hard to believe how close she is to being completely done with Pull-Ups.

She will probably not like me later in life for posting this, but I just have to share.  When Cassidy does have an accident she tells me that she spilled her water (she is completely serious).  She completely caught me off guard at first but now I think it's hysterical.  :)

Vacation Day # 10 - The End

Well, we have arrived at the last day of our vacation.  Today was spent preparing to get back into the swing of things (aka our normal routine).  We have had a fantastic ten days and have made many memories.  Thanks for enjoying the ride with us!

Vacation Day # 9 - Family Game Night

Tonight was our family dinner and Game Night.  Stetson decided to cook dinner for everyone and even tried out a new recipe.  We had Chicken Divan Casserole and Stetson did a great job!

Chef Stetson preparing our feast...
He had two lovely assistants (one of which you can barely see behind him).
He's already a professional at this.
Sitting down to to our yummy meal!
After dinner, it was time for Game Night! We love Game Night at our house!  The kids chose "Elefun" to be first.  Great choice!
Next, we moved on to "Chutes and Ladders".
Then "Hungry, Hungry Hippos"!!
We reached Cassidy's bedtime before we were done, so we moved our final game downstairs to let Cassidy get her beauty rest.  The final game was "Uno".
Now you can see why we love Game Night so much at our house!  We have fun together!

Vacation Day # 8 - Hawaiian Falls

Today was the PERFECT way to spend another hot day!  We all went to Hawaiian Falls and had some great family fun!  This was our first visit but we will definitely go again.

We started at the splash pool.  It had these big umbrellas that constantly dumped water.  It also had a pool and an area where you could walk across the pool on a fake log (if you could).  Stetson did it all!
Cassidy still doesn't like to be sprayed with water or have water dumped on her, so she had fun just swimming.
From the splash pool we headed to the wave pool.  It can be summed up in one word....FUN!
The waves would go for a while and then they would stop, so we had time to take pictures and just enjoy too.

Here is Cassidy floating on her back as the waves passed.  We were in the most shallow part so the waves weren't too big here.
Stetson and Daddy were a little further out and were "jumping" the waves!
Cassidy got a turn "jumping" the waves as well.
After lots of playing in the wave pool, we headed back to our table to enjoy our picnic lunch.  We packed sandwiches, chips, drinks, and cookies for our lunch.  It was a great lunch.
There were a lot of big slides that the kids couldn't ride, but Stetson was big enough to ride the Pineapple Express!  He and Daddy rode this one twice!  In the picture below, J is on the far right and Stetson is next to him.
Then Diddy Bug got to ride some slides too!
Check out this water playground!  We spent a lot of time here because both kids could do everything!  The large bucket on the top would fill up with water and then dump over, soaking the entire area.  It was awesome!  That is Stetson and Cassidy at the bottom of the picture.
Cassidy had a blast on the big slides with her brother!  I can't believe she did these but she is our little daredevil!
We stayed here until Cassidy was absolutely exhausted!  We had so much fun that it was hard to leave, but I'm glad we did.  I guess we all got a little more sun than we thought, but nothing bad.  So, it's good that we left when we did.

Vacation Day # 7 - Errands

There is really not a lot to report today.  We used today to run errands and shop for things that we don't necessarily have time for on the weekends.  We started with a haircut for Stetson and I don't have any pictures because sadly, I backed into a pole in the parking lot and spent my time fretting over that (it's not that bad just annoying).

From there we went to Freebirds for lunch, which was pretty yummy.  Again, no pictures because I was still wrapped up in the car to remember to take pictures.

Finally, some pictures!  We went to the new Cabela's to shop for Daddy.  They have a large fish tank and everyone was interested in the bass and catfish.  There was a HUGE catfish but none of the fish showed up in the pictures.  Oh well!

We ran a few other errands and then returned home.  Overall it was a great day but the days seem to go by so much faster during vacation!!  I promise there is more exciting stuff to come tomorrow.

Vacation Day # 6 - Fun at Home

This morning we picked up the kids from Mama Bear and Papa Bear's house and we were glad to do so.  We missed our little ones!  We came home, ate an early lunch and all took naps.  Having no plans and no time schedule is nice.

After naps, J and I decided to finish our garage project by hanging the wall cabinets.  The kids played while we worked.  I think they turned out great!
As soon as we were done, we set up the slip and slide for the kids and turned on the sprinklers as well.  Once again, they had a blast!

Mommy and Daddy enjoyed cooling off in a little different way while the kids enjoyed the water.

After relaxing and playing a bit, we decided to have a picnic!  Daddy made yummy brisket tacos and Stetson ate two!

For dessert we enjoyed Heads or Tails Oreos (half chocolate and half vanilla).  They were a perfect ending to a perfect picnic!

Vacation Day # 5- Separate Fun

This morning we took Cassidy to Mama Bear and Papa Bear's so she could join in on the fun there!  Stetson spent the night last night and they both get to spend the night tonight!  Their plans for today are to go see Winnie the Pooh at the movie theater and go swimming.  Such fun!

Here is Cassidy on the way there.  She was SO excited!
Our little cuties playing at Mama Bear and Papa Bear's before we left.  Note:  This room is currently under construction so it was a perfect place to play because it had no furniture in it!
With the kids all squared away for a day of fun, J and I had fun of our own!  First, we headed to Bistro N and had a wonderful lunch together.  After lunch, we did a little shopping and then went to Spa Nordstrom for massages.  One word...heaven!

After our massages, we headed home to get ready for a date night.  I honestly think this is the first date night we've had since having children (sad, we know).

All dressed up and ready to go!
We had a fabulous dinner at Steve Field's Steak and Lobster Lounge, along with a bottle of wine.  It was so adult! :)  After dinner, we headed to the movie theater ourselves but chose to see Larry Crowne rather than Winnie the Pooh.

Our date night was so fun and so needed.  We will definitely have to do them more often!  Thanks again to Mama Bear and Papa Bear for watching the kids so we could enjoy ourselves.

Vacation Day # 4 - Six Flags Over Texas

The wait is over!  Part of Stetson's birthday present from Mama Bear and Papa Bear was a trip to Six Flags, but Mommy and Daddy are selfish and wanted to go too!  So we waited until we could all go, which was today.  What an absolute blast!  Unfortunately, Cassidy is too young to go so she had to spend the day at school.  I don't think she minded, though.

Here we are upon arrival...
Here is Stetson waiting for the log ride, which was very much needed at this point. Mommy and Papa Bear were the only ones who really got wet on this one, though.
Mama Bear's favorite ride is the log ride.
While ordering lunch, a gun fight started in the street!  It was one of the shows and Stetson was intrigued.
So he drank his Icee while watching.
We finally moved him to his lunch, but as you can tell, he was still watching the show.  Luckily, it didn't last very long and he had a great view the whole time.
We rode several other rides and then headed to the Yosemite Sam Spelunker, which is a boat ride.  The best part of this ride was it was air conditioned!
The Gang
Stetson got to drive an antique car too!  He thought it was so cool that HE got to drive Mama Bear and Papa Bear around.
He was good too!  I have say that J did a great job taking these pictures from the car I was driving in front of Stetson.
Oh, the Midway!  Stetson and Daddy played  Goblett Toss.  The point of this game is to toss the ball and if it lands in one of the colored circles, you either win more balls or a prize.
They did pretty well I would say!  Stetson is now the proud owner of Tiggy the Tiger and Roary the Tiger (named by him, of course).
Time for another water ride!  We all rode the Roaring Rapids and got absolutely 100% soaking wet!
While still soggy, Stetson saw a sign for Six Flags Speedway and asked if we could go there.  It was Go-Karts!  Stetson was too young to drive so he was Daddy's passenger.
They came in 2nd place!
J took Stetson on the Texas Chute-Out!  I must admit that I wasn't too upset when I found out only two passengers could ride together.  Someone had to take pictures, right?
Look how high they were!!  Stetson absolutely loved this ride!
Our last ride was the Judge Roy Scream.  Stetson is quite the little thrill-seeker and loves roller coasters!  Even I was a little scared on this one, but he did great!
We stopped in the souvenir shop before we left and Stetson ended up with a light up gun and a light up sword.  Thank you Mama Bear and Papa Bear and Daddy!
Wow, what a fun day!  I think we are all completely worn out but it was worth it.  Stetson now gets to have a sleepover at Mama Bear and Papa Bear's house too!
