She's Pierced!

As previously mentioned, one of the things Cassidy requested for her birthday was to get her ears pierced.  We decided to wait until after her party, just in case her ears were tender.  We didn't want anything to ruin her fun at her party.

So, after the party, we went home and changed and hopped back into the car to give this girl her final birthday present.  Here she is in the big chair that only those getting their ears pierced get to sit in.
And 5,4,3,2,1....
She's pierced!!
Beautiful!  She didn't even know they had done it, either.
She took two of her new Beanie Boos for comfort (which she didn't need) and received a cool sucker before we left!
Now she can't wait to show off her earrings!  Watch out, world!

Cheerleading Party

The day has finally arrived!  Cassidy has anxiously been awaiting her birthday party.  This year, she chose to have a cheerleader party.  It's a good thing we planned something indoors this year too because we have had nothing but rain!

Here is our little cheerleader ready to get her party started!
We made her cake in the shape of a megaphone and gave megaphones and pom poms to each guest.
A close up of the cake.  A special shout out to Daddy for helping me with the cake!!
Party time!  Cassidy and her friends were coached by REAL cheerleaders!
They played lots of fun games.
Even Stetson got involved in some of the activities!
Then they learned a cheer that they would perform for the parents.
I was shocked at how quickly they picked it up.  Is this visions of Cassidy's future?  If she has anything to say about it, the answer is yes!
Then it was performance time!  They did an awesome job!
After all the fun, it was time for snacks and cake.  Make a wish, Diddy Bug!!
She really enjoyed spending time with her friends.
As well as all the great gifts she received!!
She had SO much fun that she didn't even make it home before she crashed and burned.  I would call that a successful party!

Whitt's Got Talent

Stetson and some of his friends from the neighborhood entered the school talent show and were selected to perform for the big show! The boys put together a fun basketball routine...think Harlem Globetrotters.  We were quite impressed!

Here they go...
Stetson was so serious.
They did lots of different tricks...dribbling, passing, catching, etc.
And they made no mistakes!
Great job, boys!  You've got talent!!

Happy Birthday, Cassidy!

Our sweet girl is six years old today!  It is amazing how much she has changed in the last year.  It is also amazing that she is already six!

She started the day off with our birthday tradition of donuts on the special birthday plate.
Six is sensational!
She also brought treats for her classmates.  Who knew Oreos made a birthday cake flavor in both chocolate and vanilla?  Cassidy...that's who!
Later in the day, we had our family party.  She requested breakfast for dinner, which was perfect. Then it was time for presents!!

Gramps spoiled her with a pair of diamond earrings since she is planning on getting her ears pierced.
Mama Bear got her a rolling suitcase just like her big brother got for his birthday!
Speaking of big brother, he gave Cassidy a Beanie Boo named Shelby (it's a turtle and she loves it)!
Mom and Dad gave her art supplies, clothes, and we will take her to get her ears pierced.
Then it was cake time!!  Diddy Bug requested a cookie cake.
She enjoyed every bite too!
Happy Birthday, Cassidy!  Here's to another year! We love you!

Field Day

One of the fun days at the end of the school year is Field Day!  Cassidy has heard Stetson talk about it and was so excited to finally get to participate.  Well, today was the day and I have some sweet friends that were able to capture a few pictures for me.

Here is Cassidy already wet and ready to continue the fun!

Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate so the activities were moved inside.  That didn't seem to bother these girls, though!  Let's play tug-o-war!
The girls beat the boys!  Woo Hoo!!
Next up, it's the third graders!  From what I hear, this was boys versus parents.

 Pull, Stetson, pull!!
So fun!  I know they did lots of other awesome activities and I am so appreciative of all who sent me the pictures!

Big Projects

Today was the day that big school projects were due for both Cassidy and Stetson.  They both worked incredibly hard and we are so proud of what they accomplished.

Cassidy had to do her first research project and present it to her class.  She chose to research Earth Day.  She had to look up facts on the internet, make a visual presentation, and then present her findings.  That's a lot for a Kindergartener and she handled it like a champ!
Stetson had to complete his first science fair project.  He chose to determine whether bean sprouts grew better with sunlight or without sunlight.  This project was six weeks in the making and he worked extremely hard.  We are so proud of him!
