Spring

There are so many great things about Spring!  The weather is beautiful, the days are longer, and we can go outside and play.  It is only two days into the season but we are already enjoying it to the fullest.

On top of all the above mentioned things, Spring also brings along yummy fresh fruit! My kids LOVE any and all types of fruit.  For dessert tonight, they had strawberries dipped in sugar!!  Delicious!

Spring Parade

Yesterday was the annual Spring Bonnet Parade at Primrose.  I was so excited to see the kids and the special hats they made for the parade.  Unfortunately, Cassidy was not able to participate due to illness but she did help me cheer on her Bubba!

Here come the Pre-Kindergarteners!  They made hats and shakers!

As always, I tried to get a class photo but it is so hard!
Stetson did a great job making his hat and in the parade!
Now we just have to await the real arrival of Spring on Sunday but the weather already feels like it.  Woo Hoo!!

Eleven Years

Eleven years ago today, I woke up with the biggest butterflies in my stomach yet the biggest smile on my face.  March 18, 2000 was going to be a day I would remember for years to come.  I was right.

I remember every detail of that day like it was yesterday...the constantly changing weather, the flowers, the candles, the way my father made me laugh.  But mostly, I remember the look on my future husband's face.  By the time the sun set, we were happily married.

When the sun rose this morning, it shined on the same happily married couple.  As cliche as it sounds, we are truly even happier and more in love today than we were eleven years ago.  I know that trend will continue for years to come.

J, you have made these past eleven years magical.  Every girl dreams of meeting their Prince Charming and living "happily ever after".  You have made mine a reality.  Words cannot express how much I love you and how grateful I am that you love me back.

Happy Anniversary, my love!  Here's to many, many, many more!  xxxooo

Happy Birthday, Brendon!

We send all our best wishes to our oldest nephew/cousin today!!  Happy 15th Birthday, Brendon!!

It is amazing to think what all you have done in 15 years and what is ahead of you in the next 15.  Cherish every moment because these are the years you will create lasting memories.  We wish you nothing but the best and can't wait to celebrate each birthday along the way.  We love you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Wishing you all the luck of the Irish today and always!

Remember this little Leprechaun?

Diddy, Diddy, Bang, Bang!

I must admit that when I imagined my first "emergency" trip to the doctor with one of my children, I always assumed it would be Stetson (aka my rough and tumble boy).  I never, in my wildest dreams, thought it would be my not quite two year old little girl!

So what happened?

Cassidy was riding on a toy at school this morning, leaned over too far, and fell off.  Unfortunately, what broke her fall was her chin on the hard floor.  When her teacher realized there was blood involved, she immediately called in the troops for first aid, who in turn called me.

When I arrived at school, I was greeted with "Let me just warn you before you go in there...".  That's all I heard and my mind started racing.  How bad is it?  Is my sweet baby crying and won't stop?  Is there blood everywhere?  Let me just remind you in case you forgot or didn't know, I do NOT handle situations involving blood well at all!  In fact, I have been known to vomit and faint.  My heart was racing and then I heard the rest of the sentence..."Ms. Irby is very emotional and has been crying ever since Cassidy fell."

I proceed to Cassidy's classroom and look for her through the window as I open the door.  She is sitting in the Director's lap and is as happy as can be.  Her teacher, on the other hand, is a wreck!  She started sobbing as soon as she saw me.  I felt horrible that she was so upset but it made me feel good at the same time.  Ms. Irby really loves and cares for my little Diddy Bug!

So off to the doctor we go!  Cassidy ended up getting "glue" put on the large gash under her chin, as well as steri-strips and bandaids.  She should be all healed up soon but for now she is sporting the tough girl look.

She looks really tough, huh?

So there you have it!  Here's hoping that this is the first and only "emergency" visit anywhere!
