Adventure Landing

We surprised the kids today with a trip to Adventure Landing.  They have both been playing on the putting green when we go to Academy or any golf store, so we thought this would be a fun adventure.  Besides the heat, it was great!

Stetson has become quite the little golfer.
This was Cassidy's first time so Daddy had to teach her the proper technique.
Mommy was just having fun!
Having a blast playing Putt Putt!
This was Stetson right after he shot a hole in one!  Fantastic!
18 holes complete.
Time to cool off inside.  Arcade games, anyone?
Stetson is pretty good on a motorcycle.
As well as at shooting hoops.
Cassidy enjoyed anything she could drive. She was steering a large pirate ship here.
Skee Ball!!
Diddy Bug's first game of Skee Ball was today too.
A race to the top by shooting water at a target.  Daddy won this one, of course.
Another first for Cassidy was Air Hockey.  I must admit, she is much better than I could have ever imagined.
The boys playing a jet game.  The chairs they were sitting in would shake with the movement of the jet.
Another driving game...
Cassidy and I challenged Stetson to the race that Daddy previously won.  Stetson was the winner!
Just like Chuck E Cheese, you received tickets after playing each game that could be redeemed for prizes.  We ended up with 188 tickets!
Lastly, Stetson tried out the batting cages. This is his first time ever in one, so Daddy had to give him a few pointers.
And he's off!
Our Lil' Slugger!
Before I end this post, here are a few videos for your viewing pleasure:
Cassidy playing Air Hockey (notice the "waa" she says with each hit)...
And Stetson in the batting cage...
We had lots and lots of fun at Adventure Landing today!!

Rainy Day

Stetson loves his donuts, but he also really loves breakfast food in general.  He asked if we could go to IHOP for pancakes so we decided to go this morning.  IHOP is one of my favorites as well.

Ready and waiting...
We actually convinced him to order something other than just pancakes and he loved every bite.
Cassidy ate quite the breakfast herself!  She is eating yogurt here, and she finished all the fruit on her pancake and half of this pancake.
It started to rain while we were at IHOP so we decided to head back home.  It's really coming down!
What better thing to do while it's raining than to watch movies!  Being lazy feels so good sometimes.

Stonebriar

Today's staycation agenda revolved around two things:  air conditioning and things we don't do very often.  With that in mind, we headed to Stonebriar Mall.  I honestly don't think we've ever been to this mall as a family.

It was lunch time when we arrived, so we grabbed a bite to eat at Freddy's.  We frequent Freddy's when in San Antonio but have never had it here.
The next stop was The Disney Store.  As previously posted, Cassidy just recently went to this store for the first time but Stetson has never been.  We did not leave empty handed.
Next stop...The Lego Store.  Who knew there were this many colored Legos?
What would vacation be without a stop inside a candy store?!  Of all the candy they had to choose from, Stetson picked a push pop (aka a sucker) and Cassidy chose a candy bracelet.
We stopped in a few other stores, but before we left the kids wanted to watch everyone on the ice rink.  We sat here for quite a while.
This may not be the most exciting adventure, but we love just being together.  We have fun no matter what we do.

Hawaiian Falls

For those that don't already know, we are on vacation this week!  We had so much fun on our staycation last year that we decided to repeat it.  The agenda for today was Hawaiian Falls!

The Ratt Pack chillin' at Hawaiian Falls...
Lucky for us, the Iveys are on vacation this week too!  So, we met up with them (minus Cameron) to enjoy some fun in the sun.
One of the first things Stetson asked when he found out we were going to Hawaiian Falls was "am I tall enough to ride the rides this year?" By golly, he is!  This is the Torpedo. Basically, you get into a capsule with a floor that drops out from underneath you and you shoot down the slide.  He loved it!
The splash on the red slide is Stetson.
Caden and Cassidy had loads of fun on the water playground.
She has grown so much since last year!  She was a pro on the slides.
As was Mr. Cade Man.
Now THIS is the life...
Next up....the lazy river.
We all loved this one.
Stetson eventually got off the raft and swam around the lazy river.
The boys also completed the floating log obstacle course thing (very technical name).   Look at Caden go!
Stetson did a great job as well!
Our big swimmer...
Our not so little swimmer.  When did she get so big?
Here's a little video of Daddy and Stetson on another ride:

We had so much fun at Hawaiian Falls!  Thank you again, Tim, Amber and Caden for making it even that much more fun!

Spider Hunting

We invited one of Stetson's friends from Kindergarten, Trevor, and his little brother over for a play date this evening.  After lots of playing inside and dinner, we decided it had cooled down enough to play outside.  The boys and Cassidy had so much fun playing in the backyard.  When it got dark, Trevor showed Stetson how to spider hunt!

First, you must get a flashlight and hold it to your forehead.  You shine the light in the grass and look for little eyes to reflect the light back to you.  You can then scoop up the spider and show off your find!

Going on a spider hunt...
Searching for the eyes...
Success!
Even bigger success!
Just for the record, I was in my chair on the patio with my feet tucked safely under me.  I don't do spiders.  So, we'll be making a trip to Home Depot for more insect repellent for the yard.  Ick!
