Thanksgiving

I have so many things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, but above all, I am so grateful for the family that J and I have created.  We may not be perfect, but we are perfect for each other.  All four of us play an important role in making our family what it is and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.  I love my crazy, beautiful family!

I am thankful I got to spend the morning running with my precious son, but I am also thankful I got to spend time with my precious daughter in the kitchen.  She was a huge help and made the green bean casserole all by herself!  It was yummy too!
Cassidy also made these beautiful napkin rings for our table.  There was one for each of us and each one had a different colored feather (J's was teal, mine was purple, Stetson's was blue, and Cassidy's was pink).
Stetson and Cassidy both set the table for us too, which was beautifully decorated by J.
Let's dig in!
After our food settled a little bit, we enjoyed pumpkin pie for dessert.
What a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I hope everyone else enjoyed their day as well.

Turkey Trot 2013

Stetson and I ran a 5k Turkey Trot this morning. It was 29 degrees outside but that didn't stop us! My running partner did an amazing job and we finished in 37:19.  I think we may have found our new Thanksgiving morning tradition.
Now on to the food we worked so hard for!!

Just Because

We have all been on vacation this week and Photographer Cassidy has been busy capturing our relaxation in action.  What a great way to spend our time off...doing nothing!  We all need it.

Ahhhh.........
We have had a few laughs and goofy moments too...
Even the dogs got in on the action!  Spoiled much??

Happy 80th Birthday, Gramps!!!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!  80 years...now that is something to celebrate!!  We celebrate everything about you and how wonderful you are, and wish you a year ahead full of love, health and happiness.

We had a late celebration, but we had the birthday boy over for his requested birthday dinner (fish). We topped it off with dessert and presents too!
The kids helped Gramps read his cards and open his gifts.  They were very excited to give him the hat he is wearing in this picture.
Happy 80th Birthday again, Gramps!  We love you!

Treat for a Champion

To celebrate his big soccer tournament win, we took Stetson and a friend of his choice for frozen yogurt. We were not surprised when he chose Brady to enjoy the treat with him.  Way to go, Stetson!

Wylie Cup 2013

This weekend was Stetson's first ever soccer tournament (the first of many to come, I'm sure). The Tigers were undefeated during the regular season so the pressure was on keep the streak going.  The boys rallied and won three games to make it to the Finals!

Here is Stetson on his way to the Final game (aka "The Super Bowl" according to Stetson).  This is his fourth game in two days and he is tired but ready to win!
I am proud to report that the Tigers won the Final game as well!  They remain undefeated and now they are tournament champions!!!
Great job, Stetson and Coach J!!  We are so proud of both of you!
The Tigers "bringin' it in" one more time for the team chant with Coach Jeremy.  GO TIGERS!
Our little soccer family (player, coach and cheerleaders).
And what did the boys do to celebrate their win?!  They had a hula hoop party!  Fun for the boys and great entertainment for the parents.  :o)
These two are GREAT hula hoopers!
Congratulations to our favorite little soccer player, his coaches, and the entire team!  What an incredible season!!

Now on to basketball! The first practice is Thursday.

Principal's Award

We received notification that Stetson would be receiving an award at the first awards ceremony of the school year.  We were super excited but anxious to know which award he would receive, as was he.  Well, I am beyond proud to let you know which award he worked hard to get.

The Principal's Award!!
He was one of only 15 kids in 2nd Grade to receive this acknowledgement.
So what is the Principal's Award?  It is awarded to students who receive 95 or higher in all subjects on their report card!  SUPER DOOPER AWESOME JOB, STETSON!!
His friend, Brady, received an award for being on the A Honor Roll!  Great job, smart boys!
An up close view of Stetson's accomplishment.
Keep up the great work, Stetson!!  We could not be more proud of you and all you have accomplished.
