Zachary's First Birthday

We traveled to San Antonio to attend Zachary's first birthday party.  It is hard to believe that he is already one!

What a cutie pie...
Trying his cake for the first time...
I think he likes it!  What do you think?

Happy Birthday, Zachary!  We are so glad we were able to attend your party.  Here is to many, many more!

Muffins with Mom

This morning was Muffins with Mom at Stetson's school.  Since we won't be able to attend the Mom and Me picnic at Cassidy's school, she joined Stetson and I this morning.  Also, we decided that donuts were better than muffins so we brought our own breakfast.

These two are the reason I am a Mom and I love them more than they will ever know!

Party Time

After recital pictures and a baseball game, it was finally time for Stetson's birthday party! He invited three friends over for food, fun, and a sleepover.  Let the party begin!

We thought feeding the boys before our evening would probably be in our best interest.  Stetson requested pizza so we had a choice of cheese, pepperoni, and sausage.
Stetson couldn't wait any longer to open his gifts, so he decided to open gifts right after dinner but to wait to have cake.  His friends know him well!  Everett got him a whole bag of baseball cards and gum.  They all had to open the packages and go through each card before we could do anything else.
When Jacob moved in a few months ago, he brought the sport of hockey to the neighborhood.  Therefore, he got Stetson his own hockey set including a goal, two sticks, and a street hockey ball.  Awesome!
For something fun, Stetson requested to go skating.  So, we all loaded up and headed to the local skating rink.
The big boys brought their roller blades (remember, they are ALL into street hockey).
Brady has his roller blades on too.
While Everett was still getting accustomed to skating in general.  He did great, though!
Little Miss Priss (aka Cassidy) skated her little heart out.  Mommy and Daddy skated too!
Skating is hard work!  These four had a blast working up a sweat.
After wearing them out skating, we took the boys home for cake.  Stetson requested a german chocolate cake (he's his Daddy's son) and we added some Star Wars flair to make it special.
Happy 8th Birthday, Stetson Lee!!
Whew!  Food, presents, skating, cake....now what?!  A slumber party!!!
What a super fun night!  The boys played so well together and were so good!  Now off to bed and then a yummy waffle breakfast in the morning.  I think it's safe to say that Stetson has had the birthday and party he wanted.

Sneak Peak

Today was picture day for Cassidy's dance recital. Therefore, you all get a sneak peak at just how cute she will look on stage next month!

Happy 8th Birthday, Stetson!

I say this every year, but how can you be 8 years old already?!  I have seen you grow from a not so tiny infant to the boy you are today.  Stetson, you are truly a joy to Daddy and me and we couldn't have hand-picked a better son.  You are....well....amazing.

Since it's Stetson's special day, he gets to do whatever he wants (within reason).  First up, donuts for breakfast before school!
A happy 8 year old right before school!  He chose to bring cupcakes for his class too.
I forgot to take pictures but Mommy and Daddy delivered Subway to school for lunch and even got to sit in the cafeteria and eat with him!

For dinner, he invited Mama Bear and Gramps over for Chick-fil-A with us.  He chose Chick-fil-A, of course.

Then after waiting ALL day, it was time for presents!!
Cassidy gave him a cool Star Wars shirt.
We gave him a hockey stick and a few other things.
Mama Bear gave him slippers and a super special ring.  This ring was J's when he was a boy and Mama Bear has kept it all these years.  Since Stetson was 2, she has let him try it on each time he comes to her house.  Well, now it finally fits and it is his!
Gramps gave Stetson four books...all classics like Where the Red Fern Grows.
Nonnie sent Stetson a Star Wars Wii game....a huge hit!  It will come in handy during his slumber party on Saturday too!
Gramps also gave Cassidy books...even though today is not her day.  Too sweet.
Stetson thought that was it, but Gramps saved the best gift for last!  A Razor 360!  If you have never seen one of these, you should check them out.  They spin in all different directions!  I will try to take a video of him riding it sometime and post it.
Happy Birthday, Stetson!!  I hope your special day was all you wanted it to be.  We will do our partying on Saturday with your best buds!
