Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween 2015!  We started our holiday by carving our pumpkins.  The kids each chose their own design and did most of the work themselves.  They turned out really cute too!

They love sticking their hands in the pumpkins and cleaning them out.  Me...not so much.

Stetson decided to carve his favorite number in his pumpkin.  Amazing work!

While Cassidy wanted an old-fashioned jack-o-lantern, but added glow in the dark teeth.

Sadly, we were having too much fun to get any pictures during trick-or-treating, but here are their results!  Wonder Woman made quite the haul!

1st 9 Weeks Awards

9 week of school already done!  Woo Hoo!  That also means it's time for the awards ceremony.

First up....our big 4th grader.  He received an award for A Honor Roll.

As well as a math award.  Great job!!

Our first grader received a reading award!

Keep up the good work!!

The kids obviously got to dress up for Halloween today too. :)

Student of the Week

At the Wolf Howl, Stetson was also chosen as the first ever Whitt Student of the Week!  Way to go!!

As student of the week, he was given a certificate for a free sub at Jimmy Johns.  Yum!

Congrats on your continued accomplishments, Stetson!  We are very proud of you.

Wow Chorale

Stetson is part of the fourth grade choir called the Wow Chorale.  Their first performance was at the first Wolf Howl at school.  He did a great job!

They performed in front of the whole school (including Cassidy and her friends).

WFL Steelers

Wylie football season has arrived!!  Stetson is on the Steelers this year and super excited!

He and Daddy are warming up in his practice jersey.  Yes, they have two jerseys this year because that's just how they roll.

WHS Football Game

As previously stated, Cassidy was invited to cheer with the high school cheerleaders at their first home game of the season as part of the cheer camp she attended.  Let's just say she has been a LITTLE excited and is so happy the day is finally here!

Of course, the boys didn't mind going to the game either.

What a great experience!  It will be interesting to see if this is a glimpse of her future or not.

Cheer Camp

The high school cheerleaders provided a cheer camp to all girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade who wanted to learn more about what it's like to be a cheerleader.  Cassidy made sure we signed her up!  It helps that she knows one of the Varsity cheerleaders too!

I had to drop Cassidy off in the morning and then come back in the afternoon to see what all she had learned.  She was excited to show us her new moves.

But first, the Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleaders performed for us.

Then it was time for the girls!  They were broken down into groups by grade.  Our little 1st grader is small but mighty.

After the performances, they all got together for a group picture.  That's a lot of cheerleaders! Cassidy is on the far right next to her favorite cheerleader in white.

Her favorite cheerleader is Haedyn!!  We love Haedyn!!

Camp was just the beginning, though.  Cassidy gets to cheer at the first home game so stay tuned for pics of that!
