Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!  What a wonderful Christmas we have had!  The kids have been good all year and Santa wanted to make sure they knew it!

The fun began by opening our stockings this morning!  Stetson was thrilled that Santa brought him a microphone.
And we quickly moved to the presents under the tree.  As you can tell, Stetson wasted no time getting right to business!
Cassidy is still figuring out this whole Christmas thing and did things at her own pace.
We all received so many fabulous gifts and there is no way to list them all, so here are just a few.  Both kids received a pillow pet from Nonnie.  Huge hit!
Stetson received this COOL hunting ensemble from Uncle Dude and Aunt Rock.  This is definitely a favorite.
Diddy Bug got these super cute lady bug slippers from Aunt Allison and Uncle Chris.  And yes, I realize they are on the wrong feet but they're still cute!
We finally finished opening all the gifts under the tree and Stetson helped me open all the shutters in the house.  I don't know how well you can see in this picture but when he opened the shutters in the living room, he could see two HUGE red bags outside on the patio.  He is asking me what that is in this picture.
It was freezing cold outside and the wind was blowing like crazy so Daddy brought the bags inside so we could investigate them further.  We finally realized that one said "To Stetson from Santa" and the other one said "To Cassidy from Santa".  What could be inside?!
A BIKE!!  Not only a bike but THE bike Stetson wanted!  And he thought Santa was too busy to bring him his bike this year!  That Santa sure is tricky!  (Stetson is also wearing the slippers he got from Aunt Allison and Uncle Chris)
The second red bag was a fropper for Cassidy (aka a bike)!!
So you would think that would be it right?  No!  Stetson also mentioned that Santa left something upstairs by the tree in his and Cassidy's playroom.  Wow!
He left bean bags!  One for each of them!  That will be perfect for watching tv and playing since there is nothing to sit on.
Opening presents was finally over!  Now it was time to dig in further and REALLY see what we all got.  The first thing Stetson wanted to do was put on the Batman costume Uncle Kevin and Aunt Cami sent him.  Too cool!!
We all braved the cold temperatures and let the kids ride their bikes too!  Stetson was a pro!
And Cassidy was pretty darn good too!
 Look at him go!
The outside playing was short-lived, though.  It was too cold!!  So we went back inside and little miss girly girl sprung into action.  Check out her new jewelry!
Don't forget to notice her new high heels as well.  She is quite the little fashionista!
We have had such a great day and don't want it to end, but we are exhausted!  We hope you all had the best holiday as well!  Merry Christmas!!

Christmas Eve 2010

Santa showed up at our house tonight and delivered one present to Stetson's stocking and one present to Cassidy's stocking.  He's pretty sneaky because we never saw him and don't know how these gifts got into their stockings!

The first gift to open of Christmas 2010 is...
A Santa necklace that lights up!  They each got one!  Daddy and Stetson think Santa sent them so we can put them outside tonight so Rudolph knows where to land.  We do live in a new house, you know, and the weather is pretty yucky.  ;0)
After our yummy tamale dinner (thank you to everyone involved), it was time to put on our Christmas pajamas!!
And yes, we finally found some pjs for Stetson!!
 Merry Christmas!!
Right after our hot chocolate by the tree, it was time to put out our cookies and milk for Santa!  We always put out food for the reindeer too.  This year they got carrots and celery.

The excitement in our house is off the charts!  We sure hope Santa shows up!  May you all have a wonderful holiday!  MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!!!

Cookies for Santa

The kids and I have planned for over a week to make Christmas cookies for Santa the first day off I have from work.  Well that day was today and we started making our cookies right after breakfast!  Once again, I have the best little bakers in town.

After making the dough together, we took separate stations in the kitchen.  I stood at the counter and got the cookies ready for decorating, while the kids took their posts at the table to decorate.  We had a great little system going!

Decorating batch number one...
Cassidy just handled the sprinkle bottle at first...
While her brother decorated like a pro.
But that didn't last long!  She had a blast with the sprinkles!  She is now a pro as well!
The finished product!  I think Santa will LOVE their cookies!

Christmas Light Viewing

We love Christmas time and love looking at Christmas lights and other holiday decor!  So tonight we all loaded up in Mommy's sleigh and rode around the neighborhood listening to Christmas music and looking at lights.  We had so much fun together!

Diddy Bug ready for our adventure...

Stetson too!  He doesn't look excited at all, does he?!

Our first stop was, of course, the Woodcreek Wonderland (aka our house)!

We were SO happy that Daddy got to join us, as he was supposed to be hunting this weekend!

Stetson loved the lights!

Cassidy kept saying "lights! pretty!".

I can't believe I am posting this picture, but I had fun driving the family around tonight!

When we got home it was WAY past the kids' bedtimes, but Stetson got to stay up even later and enjoy more hot chocolate by the Christmas tree (a new favorite).

And Daddy had hidden a candy cane in the tree.  If Stetson could find it, he could eat it.  Score!

The holidays are such a busy time, but it is so nice to just sit back and enjoy every once in a while.  There is nothing better than spending time together!  My family is all I ever want or need for Christmas.

Christmas Program

Tonight was the Primrose Christmas Program.  Stetson got to dress in his Christmas best and entertain us with his singing.  He and his class sang "I Got the Chicken Pox for Christmas" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".  It was precious!

Here they are singing their little hearts out...

I had no idea his teacher was going to do this but it made the program so much cuter!  I guess he really did get the chicken pox for Christmas!

"I Got the Chicken Pox for Christmas" featuring Pre-K 2!!

And the end of "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas!

It's hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us, but we are so excited that it is!  There is something so magical about this time of year.  This is our first Christmas in our new house, and we have had so much fun figuring out where our decorations should go.  Stetson has been an amazing help and has made decorating an absolute blast.  There is nothing better than witnessing Christmas through a child's eyes.

Daddy picked out the perfect tree this year!  A soon as Stetson realized it was in the house he wanted to decorate it!  Unfortunately, we had to wait for a weekend night so he could stay up late and enjoy the whole process.  It was definitely worth the wait!

Here is our official light tester.  We bought all new lights for the tree this year and Stetson made sure each strand was working properly.  He opened each box, pulled out the lights, and plugged them in.
Not only did Stetson test the lights, but he made sure Daddy had them as needed.  He was so good at his job that he was usually waiting on Daddy to finish putting a strand on the tree so he could give him another.
Little Cassidy was a huge help too!  She handed Daddy anything and everything she thought he might need.
Sadly, Cassidy had to go to bed before we finished the tree.  Stetson would have stayed up until midnight if we would have let him!  So after Cassidy was all snug in her bed, we started putting the ornaments on the tree.  Stetson was a pro!
We proudly present our 2010 Christmas Tree!!!
Here is a view from the outside as well.
Stetson wanted me to take pictures of our other decorations too, so here they are.

This is Stetson and Cassidy's own tree in their playroom.  They love it!
After all the work of decorating, it was time to enjoy.  We started out by roasting marshmallows!
Then it was time for hot chocolate by the tree!
We planned on watching The Polar Express as well but ran out of time.  Just for the record, we did fit it in this morning and Cassidy was able to join us.

This is by far the most fun we have had while decorating.  I know that it will only continue to get better as our children grow.  We wish you all the same joy this holiday season.  Merry Christmas!!
