Mutton Bustin'

Not only did we get to attend the rodeo last night, but Stetson got to be a part of it!!  We knew Stetson was old enough and met all the requirements to sign up for Mutton Bustin' (riding on a sheep) prior to attending, but we weren't sure he would want to do it.  We showed him a video of what it was and he was 100% on board!

One of the reasons we arrived early, was to register Stetson for the Mutton Bustin'.  Each child put their name in a drawing and only eight kids would be selected.  We were on pins and needles waiting to see if he would be chosen or not!  I mean, come on, with a name like Stetson how could they possibly turn him down?

Daddy filled out the paperwork to enter Stetson in the drawing.
At Intermission, Daddy and Stetson went to see if he made the cut.

Here he is all dressed and ready to go!

I was still in the stands trying to catch all the action but wishing I was down right smack in the middle of it!  J is in the orange shirt waiting for Stetson to ride.
Here is a shot of Stetson and Daddy right after the ride.
Introducing our little cowboy, the Mutton Bustin' professional...

We are so proud of you, Stetson!  This trophy means the world to this little boy!

Mesquite ProRodeo

Last night we attended the Finals at the Mesquite ProRodeo Summer Series.  I have to thank Jim, whom I work with, for hooking us up with great tickets!  We had a great time!

We arrived a little early, so we had to time explore the arena.  The kids got to see some of the animals that would be part of the rodeo.
Then we found our seats and took the opportunity to take some pictures.  Remember, we were there early so the seats were definitely not this empty during the event.

RODEO TIME!!  First up, the bare bronc riders.
Then the Bulldoggers (aka steer wrestlers).
A family favorite...team roping.  Anybody want to take bets on if J gets back into it now??
Calf roping.  Sorry for the fuzziness.
Barrel Racing
And last but not least, bull riding!
What a fun family night!!  We love the rodeo!

That Wylie Band

The Wylie High School Marching Band (aka That Wylie Band) had a parade through our neighborhood this morning.  It was so fun to have something like this right in our front yard and to see all our neighbors out enjoying it too.

We walked to the corner so we could get a better view and found a nice shady spot.  Stetson actually rode his scooter, while Princess Cassidy got a ride in her stroller.  Just for the record, yes, they are in their pajamas.  Oh, to be a kid again and be able to do that!

We even brought a little breakfast snack of chocolate milk and blueberry muffins to enjoy while waiting.
It was HOT.
It was worth waiting in the heat though.  Here they come!!

Pictures just don't do a post about a marching band justice.  Therefore, here are some videos for your listening pleasure.  You've got to love the drum line!

Listen for Cassidy in this one...
Marching right by us...
They even stopped to perform for us!  Stetson gave them a donation by placing money in one of their official uniform hats.  Pretty cool stuff!

Our Big Kindergartener!

It is the first day of school and the first day of Kindergarten for Stetson!  It is so hard to believe he is already in school.  I am so proud how far he has come in just five years.  He is growing so fast, though!

Stetson and Cassidy both posed for pictures this morning with their new backpacks and lunch bags from Aunt Mo.  Aunt Mo, you are a rock star for sending them these!  They absolutely love them and they are quite handy!
Princess Diddy Bug ready for school.
Big Boy Stetson all dressed and ready for big school!
Isn't this backpack awesome?!
A.W.E.S.O.M.E.!!!
It even has a matching lunch bag that attaches to the backpack!
Walking into school for the first time ever.
Mommy, Daddy and Cassidy were all there for support (even though it wasn't needed).
See what I mean?  We hadn't even walked in the door yet and he was already telling us goodbye.
After receiving a sticker from the principal, we found his classroom.
And posed for more pictures.

Then we walked in and took a picture with Stetson's teacher, Mrs. Heilman!
Stetson was at his desk ready to start Kindergarten!!  No tears or anything!  Such a big boy!
Here is to a GREAT school year!!  Stetson is now a Whitt Wolf!

Sprinkled With Love

Today I hosted a Baby Sprinkle for Amber to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her second son.  A baby sprinkle is a baby shower celebration for any and all children after the firstborn. The idea for this type of celebration is to “sprinkle” the baby with gifts instead of “showering” them.

The theme was "Sprinkled With Love", so I had a whole table dedicated to the theme.  It included cupcakes sprinkled with sugar, chocolate frosted donut holes with sprinkles, frosted cookies with sprinkles, and an ice cream station where you could sprinkle on your favorite toppings.
I also made a banner that said "Sprinkled With Love" that hung across the mantle above all the gifts.
An envelope for gift receipts and a pad for keeping track of the gifts was also provided.
I wanted to give Amber a diaper cake, but was tired of the same diaper cake you see all the time.  I came across this idea for a diaper tricycle and had to make it.
When the guests arrived, they signed the baby book.  Upon departing, they were given a favor as a thank you for attending.
There was other food too, as well as blue punch.  How can you have a celebration for a baby boy and not have blue punch?
I never got a great picture of the guest of honor with my camera, but had to take this picture of her taking pictures.  We are the blogarazzi after all.
Luckily, Amber did get to enjoy the food and drink.
Gift time!  She had so many gifts and everyone was so sweet to "sprinkle" her with so many needed items.

As I said before, the guests were given a favor when the shower was over.  They each received two little gift bags that included a salt and pepper shaker filled with jelly beans.

The holes on the shakers were in the shape of a heart so they can continue to "Sprinkle With Love".
